Okay...so finally the cast for the new season of Dancing with the Stars has been released. I guess I just always get my hopes up too much every year......It seems like the professional dancers are getting more famous then the actual stars that are competing on the show!! The list of the "stars" are Chaz Bono, David Arquette, Ricki Lake, Kristin Cavallari, Rob Kardashian, Carson Kressley, Ron Artest, Elisabetta Canalis (in the description is says George Clooney's ex....wow she MUST be a star since they have to give us that important piece of information so we know who she is), Chynna Philips, Nancy Grace, JR Martinez, and Hope Solo. So when I first saw the list I counted the stars I knew without having to research on Google. I knew 7, but would I consider them stars....not exactly. Kristin, Elisabetta, and David got a free ride because they all got dumped with this year. I mean just because they were in headlines for a week I guess they MUST be the most talked about stars this year in Hollywood!!! Rob Kardashian....hmmm.....I guess living at your sisters house, playing video games and eating junk food is working for him!! I know who Ricki Lake is.... a little bit. She used to host a talk show in the 90's?? Nancy Grace, all I know about her is that they love to make fun of her on SNL!! BIG WOOP!! I also, of course, know who Chaz Bono is! I don't know anything about the rest of the stars, I guess it is a good thing that Google is my homepage! Even though I sound underwhelmed I still love the show! It sucks me in every season as I get to know the "stars"!! All I can say is I can't wait until it starts!!!

I was bored with the whole idea until I heard the cast, and I am now pretty jazzed. I want to bring up that David Arquette is a star in his own right, and he is adorable. Cutest smile. He has been in all the Scream movies; he was a fairly well-known actor--coming from the Arquette family of actors--before he hooked up with Courtney. I'm shocked to see Nancy Grace. I thought she was too sophisticated/serious to make a fool of herself on television. I've never seen what she looks like below the waist. We'll see if she has legs. J.R. Martinez is the actor on All My Children whose face was severely burned. I'm used to watching him, and I'm happy to see him on the show. I will draw a lot of boos over this, but I sincerely hope that the the show's vote isn't skewed by a group with an agenda. As long as the bad dancers are voted off the show, I shall be happy.

Thank you so much for filling me in about the stars that I don't know much about!! I have been doing some more research on them and I am getting much more excited!! I am pretty young so I only know the recent media on some of these stars, but you made me realize that they sure have more on their track record then what I know about!! Thank you for that!! I would love to know what blogs you decide to keep!! I would love to read them. Oh, and by the way who is your favorite professional dancer??
ReplyDeleteHope Solo is the only *Star* in this group. The others are famous people. Chaz Bono is famous because of his parents and would otherwise not be so news worthy. You could argue for Ron Artest and David Arquette. But as a *Star* it is Hope Solo hands down.
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't know much about her other than she is an athlete, but all athletes are stars in my eyes!!! Who is Ron Artest exactly? Is he controversial?
ReplyDeleteYes, Ron Artest is some what controversial. In 2004 Ron jumped into the stands and attacked a fan while playing for the Indiana Pacers (the fan threw ice at him). Since then, he has been getting treatment for anger management and appears to have that problem under control and has had a career restart in LA. The other thing is that he was planning a name change to Metta World Peace.
